Correct an individual management fee or booking charge by opening its transaction record. This guide covers changing a saved entry or removing a duplicate or incorrect charge.
Check the record you are changing
A fee or charge is different from the payment that settles it. Editing or deleting a fee changes BookingTrust’s accounting records; it does not reverse money already paid through the bank. Check the owner statement and related transactions before making the correction.

Before you change the fee
- Confirm the property, booking if applicable, transaction number and reason for the change.
- If the fee is supplied by your PMS, correct the source record where possible so the records remain consistent.
- For an earlier charge already included in a completed owner statement, consider a current Management Fee Credit rather than changing the historical charge.
- If the record is already disbursed, reconciled or covered by a closed period, check the permitted correction with support before changing the completed financial history.
Find the management fee or charge
- Find the booking and expand its menu with +.
- Open Fees when available.
- Find the fee you want to correct, then select its transaction number under TRANS#.

If you recently added a property-level fee without a booking, go to Logs > Transaction Log, locate the entry and select its transaction number. For a guest cleaning charge, open the booking’s Payment Record and select View on the charge row, rather than the payment row.
Edit or delete the entry
- On the transaction details screen, check the type, amount, date, property and any booking reference.
- To correct the entry, select Edit, change the required details and select Save.
- To remove an incorrect or duplicate entry, select Delete and accept the confirmation prompt.
- Wait for the success message before returning to the fee list.
The available buttons depend on your permissions and the transaction’s history. If Edit or Delete is unavailable, or saving is blocked, keep the transaction number and contact support@bookingtrust.com.au. Do not change dates or remove legitimate charges just to get past a restriction.
Check the result
- Check the revised fee amount or that the unwanted entry is no longer active.
- Review any related guest charge and the booking’s Payment Record balance.
- Reopen the property’s Booking Report and confirm that the owner return reflects the correction.
Related entries and calculated fees may be updated as part of a correction. Review the result rather than assuming only the number you entered has changed.
Change the ongoing fee rule
Editing a transaction corrects that saved entry. To change how fees are calculated for bookings, use the property’s Fee Rates or Global Fees. A rate-setting change can affect other eligible bookings, so it needs a separate check of the intended scope.
