Record a disbursement after checking the property’s released bookings, fees and charges. BookingTrust prepares the payment amounts; you then complete the payments through your bank.
Disbursing does not send a bank payment
Disbursement records the amounts to pay and adds eligible payments to ABA Export. It can also send an owner report, depending on your account and report settings. Check the report before you proceed.

Before you start
- Complete your bank reconciliation and release the bookings that belong in this payout. See Booking Release.
- Check that the correct owner is linked to the property and the payment destination is correct. An owner’s default bank account may be overridden by a property-specific bank account.
- Check your trust/host and trading bank details under Profile > Bank Accounts.
- Review invoices, management fees, booking charges, balances brought forward and any amounts being held over. A booking being fully paid does not, by itself, make every amount available to disburse.
Disburse a property
- Go to Trust Account > Disbursements and find the property. Expand it using the + if needed.
- Open Booking Report and check the bookings, fees, charges and owner’s payment. Use View and check an owner statement if you need help tracing an amount.
- If the report is correct, select Disburse All for that property. This action applies to the selected property; repeat it for each property you intend to pay.
- Go to Trust Account > ABA Export and check the resulting payee amounts. Your trading-account payment may combine fees and charges from several properties.
- Complete the separate bank-payment steps in Export and complete bank payments. Do not pay by adding up figures from individual owner reports.
Check without disbursing: select Check Only to validate the disbursement calculations. An All Good result means the check passed; it does not record a payout.
Only paying part of the property’s funds? Review the separate fee, charge or remittance options rather than selecting Disburse All. Check the recipient and amount before saving a separate disbursement.
| Amount or record | What to check |
|---|---|
| Fees | Management commission and other management fees, including manually added fees. |
| Charges | Booking charges and other charge entries. Use the charge details to check who should bear the cost. |
| Remittance | The amount for the property owner after the applicable fees, charges and expenses. |
| Pending amounts | Items awaiting confirmation or later payment. Review their status rather than assuming they have already been paid. |
If you cannot disburse the property
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Update Owner or missing owner details | Link the correct owner and check their bank details. Check any property-specific payment destination too. |
| No available disbursement action | Review the owner/bank details, released balance and report for this property. If the reason is unclear, ask support before attempting a manual workaround. |
| A booking is missing | Search for the booking and check its payment, bank-confirmation and release status. A booking can exist without being ready for this payout. |
| Fees or charges exceed the released funds | Open the relevant fees/charges ledger and identify the entries. Check any brought-forward or held amounts. Wait for sufficient funds or ask support how the balance should be handled. Do not delete a valid expense or add a balancing credit just to enable disbursement. |
Disbursing the manager ledger? It has a different workflow from a property with bookings. See Disbursing the Manager Account.
When to contact support
Contact support if you cannot explain a balance, the payment destination is unclear, or a disbursement appears to have been recorded incorrectly. Include the property reference, exact message and checks already completed. Avoid repeating the disbursement until you know what was recorded.
